The Myth Of The Polite Bus Driver

The Myth Of The Polite Bus Driver

To use the desription that ALL bus drivers are ill-mannered and
pretentious, is, in itself, a hypocritical statement to make. The
idea that ALL of the bus driving proffession are impolite would be
like suggesting ALL Pit Bull terriers want to eat your children.
Granted, whilst the majority do, somewhere in the annals of time there
must be an example of a peaceful, cuddly pooch content with eating
unproccessed horsemeat each day rather than the more nutrious human
variety.

And i believe this is the same with the common world bus
driver. Somewhere in the world there will be a friendly bus driver,
who greets you with a smile and the courtesy of a polite
conversation. I mean, how hard is it for them to respond when you
thank them for your peaceful journey? Even a grunt would suffice.

That said, i have to sympathise with the bus drivers. The monotony of
traversing the same routes every single day for pitiful pay must make
some question their need in society.

So to the bus drivers of the world, we appreciate you and your
commitment to safe transport. We just wish next time we try to pay
for a fifty pence journey with a ten pound note, you show us some
compassion. Remember, whilst it may be difficult for you to count the
copper out, it is ultimatly us who have to carry it around all day.
